"wrecking ball" // "like a wrecking ball"

Today's episode of compare and contrast looks at two songs with similar names but by two artists who are about as similar as night and day. Miley Cyrus and Eric Church. Mull that over for a second.

You're without a doubt familiar with Miley's "Wrecking Ball," a song title that more or less encapsulates the last few years of her life. Short hair, on-stage twerking, and lots of concerned mothers watching the Today Show.

And then there's Eric Church's "Like a Wrecking Ball." This one is also a little uncomfortable -- there are nuances of some personal time, but it leaves a little bit of an awkward taste. But still, like Miley's it's all in all a good song to listen to.

So what do you think? Preference? Is it just something about using wrecking balls as similes in music that just makes things uncomfortable, or is that just me?
