In case you need a quick refresher on "Thrift Shop":
John and Sherry laid out three rules for the Thrift Shop Challenge:
Step #1. Go to a thrift shop with -- just as the chorus of the song says -- “$20 in your pocket” and take a picture.
Step #2. Spend that $20 any way you’d like and photograph your spoils.
Step #3. Find one item (or more) referenced in the song and snap a pic.

Step #1. After a lot of debate, Krista and I decided that the Clock Tower Thrift Store in Falls Church, VA, would be our best bet (the store has provided us with several theme party gems, most notably khaki shortalls and a jingling Christmas sweater...). There was a giant SALE sign outside. We knew it would be good.
Step #2. We weaved and wandered through this cramped little store, and the things that most caught our eye were a pink keyboard (which we dubbed My First DJ's Set) and a faux fur tiger vest. Krista ended up with a University of Louisville basketball tie and a cassette of a thunderstorm, all for $1.84. What a steal. We also considered buying a colonial record (um duh, William and Mary 4eva), an Aaron Carter CD (to prepare for his concert in April), and fencing masks (so we could pretend we were in The Parent Trap).
Step #3. We had so many options for Macklemore-inspired references. We found footie pajamas that, unfortunately, would've been a little small for us. We were so close to buying that keyboard (broken keyboard, holler), and a big ass coat (that could also double as your grandma's coat).
In conclusion: this was (effing) awesome.

Yay, U of L! Great score (and I kinda dig the coat).
