Throwback Thursday: "Killing Me Softly"

I spent two summers (or maybe three?) at Congressional Camp (a day camp, because I obvi had to be here for swim team), and although we had our ups and downs (I may have cried a couple of times there... but I cried a lot as a child.), it did give me one wonderful gift: an appreciation of lip syncs. (Also, I learned last night that TIOJ-friend Letitia also went to Congressional -- I probably would've liked it a lot better if I had known that/her then. Oh well.)

Every year, Congressional had a massive lip sync contest in which your team/group/thing did a lip sync to some song. It's where I first learned to love Michael Jackson (rest in peace), and my group once did The Twist. The greatest gift I got from the Congressional lip sync was my exposure to "Killing Me Softly."

One of the older camp groups (in my head, they were really old, like 18, but that doesn't really make sense -- they were probably about 13) lip sync-ed to this song, and part of their routine was throwing popcorn at each other. Still don't really understand why. But thank you, Congressional Camp, for opening my eyes to this classic.
